Finally, after 5 and a half months back at Sharon's Sultan was on the move once more, his 4th journey with me. A lady well known to the PAD community, and to me for I had delivered a Dobie, Darius, there before, but who was sadly recently deceased, had decided to give him a home over Christmas with a view to permanence if all went well.
Given that at his last home Sultan fitted in very well with the family and the existing female Dobie, Eva, we had high hopes for this new placement. In contrast with the first time, where he could not curb his enthusiasm for chasing with mal intent the smaller furry creatures already in residence, here there were no such distractions, just a lively Spanish Whippet girl called Candela.
So, on a cold December morning in 2017, I filmed his last run around at Sharon's and then his arrival and introduction to his new family near Tours.
As usual with Sultan, he was no trouble in the car, or out of it on our short break midway, and we arrived at destination dead on time in the afternoon.
After the first cautious meeting and a brief break for coffee and cake indoors we did the tour of the garden with Candela putting on a brief demonstration of the speed so typical of her breed.
No problems at all, so I took my leave. Tomorrow another Dobie, but tonight a good meal in good company to the west of Paris.

At the time of writing this, almost 2 weeks later, all signs are good for his continued stay.
